Roles & Responsibilities



We are seeking a Development Support Engineer to increase our support services and enable faster product development.



We work directly with our influential client base to extend the state of the art in ticketing solutions. We use a wide range of innovative and unique technologies that enable our clients to deliver the ultimate customer experience and provide the best solutions for event sales, data capture and distribution.



We are looking for a talented Development Support Engineer to bolster our established core engineering team and support our customer facing business. You’ll need to be a committed, hard working and self-motivated individual who enjoys the challenges of learning new skills and adopting new technologies.



The candidate may well be at the beginning of their technical career but keen to join an established engineering team to empower our support organisation as you grow in your skills and experience.



About the role:



  • A new role within our engineering team to help effectively support our customer facing teams. This role is a junior role, with great growth potential working within a modern technology organisation.
  • Helping to resolve customer support issues and problems, effectively and efficiently.
  • Supporting data migrations, customer go-live events, customisation requests and feature enhancements to our established product suite.
  • Working directly with customers to understand their requirements, and ensure that we can deliver on our customer commitments.
  • Delivering high quality work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, Agile teams.
  • A mature work ethic, drawing from your professional experience and any transferable skills, showing that what you may lack in technical experience, you make up for with self determination and drive.



About You



  • Demonstrable skills in technology and software development
  • Exposure to modern languages and tools - like Javascript, PHP, Java
  • An understanding of SQL and database systems like MySQL and MariaDB
  • Understanding of modern Software Development and tooling e.g. Git, Test Driven Development
  • A positive would be experience in a modern web framework like Angular or React
  • An exposure to cloud deployment technologies e.g. AWS or similar GCC, Azure etc.
  • Be able to show understanding of Agile delivery processes like Scrum or Kanban
  • Exposure to requirements capture and testing within modern software delivery



Desirable



  • Exposure to PHP and Wordpress would be beneficial

Senior Front End Developer

We are looking for an experienced Front End Developer, with proven skills in multiple web development frameworks, to lead our Web Development team.



Owners of the Red61 Ticketing System, we work directly with our influential client base to extend the state of the art in ticketing solutions. We are the ticketing solution that drives the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (the largest arts festival in the world), as well as the largest arts festivals on four continents with clients across the UK, Australia, South Africa, UAE and Canada.



We use a wide range of innovative and unique technologies that enable our clients to deliver the ultimate customer experience and provide the best solutions for event sales, data capture and distribution.



We are looking for a talented Web Developer to take a very successful ticketing platform to the next level, into a cloud-based SaaS architecture. You’ll need to be a committed, hard working and self-motivated individual who enjoys the challenges of building new platforms using a range of technologies.



The candidate will be hands-on and have experience working in local and remote teams, having key inputs into system architecture and team development, and be the link between the Web Development team and the rest of the company.



About the role:



A senior member of our engineering team, working with the technical leadership to ensure that the team is delivering quality products aligned to the product roadmap.



Providing technical input on the design and structure of all web applications, services and API development.



Requires a broad experience across a range of technologies and tools - helping to ensure your contributions to the overall suite of products and services.



Delivering high quality work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, Agile teams, ensuring all products are delivered efficiently and in a value driven manner.



Providing mentorship and helping develop less experienced members of the team, while contributing to the overall growth of the team.



Working and leading in dedicated projects to deliver Proof Of Concepts and early Alpha/Beta products - enabling the organisation to move quickly into new markets and provide new offerings.



About You



  • Proven experience with modern web frameworks, primarily angular and exposure to others such as REACT, Vue.js.
  • Strong understanding of modern web technologies and concepts such as JSON, REST APIs, JWT Authentication, Web Sockets, GraphQL and GRPC.
  • Experience with Progressive Web Apps, and mobile web app development, and considerations.
  • Ability to write high quality code, while adopting strong testing methodologies and tooling to ensure functional correctness and requirement achievement.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Lean delivery principles and a desire to drive continuous improvements as part of a value driven organization.
  • Strong understanding of cloud deployment - especially for modern API driven services and progressive web apps.
  • Exposure to analytics and data driven development - A/B Testing, user feedback.
  • Understanding of serverless compute and cloud-native platforms as well as N-Tier and modern service architectures to build highly available - elastic growth, on-demand services.



Desirable



  • Exposure to PHP and Wordpress would be beneficial
  • Experience of Java, preferably J2EE including JMS, EJB & JPA
  • Wildfly / Redhat EAP or equivalent Java Application Server
  • Understanding of modern data analysis and visualisation techniques
  • Mobile native technologies and services
