Red61 Introduces A New Frontier in Ticketing Access-Control

Red61 is proud to announce the official release of our new, all-in-one sales and access-control mobile platform, Front of House by Red61.

Front of House is a mobile app, available on both Apple and Android devices, that is freely accessible to Red61 users through the App Store and Play Store.

The app is your ultimate venue partner, enabling fast scanning and customer validation, live scan counts and sales figures, and door sales via Stripe’s Tap to Pay mobile integration.

Our new Front of House app has already been used across a number of major festivals in recent months, including Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the UK, and Edmonton Fringe in Canada.

Essential components that create an efficient front-of-house experience, all rolled into one mobile platform, with minimal training required.

This is the start of our way forward – making the complex easy so you can make your customer’s experience memorable.

This is ticketing, your way, with Red61.

Simple, fast customer entry

Front of House by Red61 builds on our history of fast, efficient access-control, ready to withstand the biggest capacities and the busiest environments with ease.

Customers receive a QR code following their purchase, which can be scanned from either a confirmation email, Apple Wallet pass, Google Wallet pass, or printed ticket.

This offers flexibility for customers, to ensure tickets can be processed quickly and efficiently at your venue.

With simple design and clear information, Front of House by Red61 provides live information on the current scan count and available ticket count for your show.

There is even the option to revert ticket scans when circumstances change.

Easy customer check-in

When customers forget their tickets at your venue, all is not lost.

Front of House by Red61 acts as your digital door list, with full purchase information available at the tap of your finger.

Validate a select few tickets from an order, validate them all at once, or revert previous scans if needed.

You can even loop back to see fully checked-in customers, or keep things simple and manage new arrivals in the list.

Accessible and functional

Any customers that have requested support at your venue will be overlaid on screen when their tickets are scanned or validated.

That means no more printed door lists – everything is available to your staff in real-time at the venue.

Sell more tickets, faster

Ensure no one misses out on your main event, with our unique, integrated door sales solution available on Front of House by Red61.

We leverage the power of our preferred payment provider, Stripe, to create a fully mobile sales channel in the palm of your hand.

Operators can choose whether customer details are obtained prior to an event, or if sales remain anonymous to speed things up on the door.

Customers can also present promo codes for last-minute offers, and pay with flexibility via cash, physical card, or mobile payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Front of House, in our words

Red61’s Head of Product, Will Trattles:

“We listened to what our clients were asking for and rebuilt Front of House around that.

It’s more intuitive, packed with the features they wanted, and frankly, I think it looks great.

And because we’ve been thoughtful about how we’ve built and designed it, it’s easier for us to support and iterate on.

“That’s the experience I want to deliver for you across everything we build.”

Increased door sales at theSpaceUK

theSpaceUK ran more than 470 shows across 6 separate venues during the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe season.

They rely heavily on a mobile box office, meaning smooth door sales are a critical part of their operations.

This made the venue a perfect candidate for testing the new version of Front of House by Red61, and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Here’s what Lee Stone from theSpaceUK said following the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe season:

“This year we saw an increased level of reliability with the Front of House app, particularly with handling payments. This helped improve our team’s confidence in using the app and allowed them to spend more time assisting our companies and audience members.

“As a result, this increased reliability allowed us to drive a higher level of on the door sales than 2025, without disrupting the audience flow of busy shows.

“The new functionality to allow us to assign customers to sales on the door has been a great benefit, allowing us to unlock selling tickets further in advance.

“Within minutes of rolling out the new version we had someone using it to sell tickets for a show which wouldn’t be starting for an hour.”
